Congregation Ahavat Olam invites you to join our family of 300 members. We are an egalitarian conservative synagogue serving the Jewish population of western Monmouth and northern Ocean counties. Congregation Agudath Israel is a 950-household Conservative congregation with large early childhood center, religious school, and high school departments; many day school students; Kadima; USY; and 10 other modes of teen and preteen programming. Plus, extensive adult education options, including participation in national Melton and Meah programs on site. State-of-the art facility. Active sisterhood, men’s club, social action, environment,  Israel, world Jewry, and related activities. Plus, senior adult lounge, teen lounge, complete Judaic library, learning and conference center. Full staff including pre-school director, executive director, congregation nurse, and social worker. Shabbat morning services offer diverse religious opportunities, study groups, Torah for Tots, and five age-levels of children’s services. Daily morning and evening services.

Newark’s oldest operating synagogue, with an historic ark, is an egalitarian traditional congregation affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Services are held on Saturday morning, year round, at 9:30, and on the first and last days of the major festivals. A cantor joins the rabbi and congregation for the Yamim Nora’im.

The past decade has witnessed the resurgence of Congregation Ahavas Sholom. Once an Orthodox synagogue with a congregation of aging Newarkers, the synagogue has undergone a transformation of everything except the warm, haimish sentiment that greets those who come through its doors. Now a Conservative congregation that treats men and women equally, Ahavas Sholom draws its worshippers from Newark and suburban towns including Morristown, Warren, Monroe, Montclair, Livingston, and Springfield. Some are people who have membership in other synagogues, some are currently unaffiliated, and some are new to the area. Many are from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.

Congregation B’nai Emet is an egalitarian, havura-style congregation, which meets monthly for services on Main Street in Sparta. Prayers are recited in English and Hebrew. Our services are casual and family friendly. Men, women, and children sit side by side enjoying family prayers and melodies. Our Friday evening service is followed by a community dinner. Holiday and other services are scheduled when needed.

Our congregation offers social and cultural events, such as lectures, family outings, and adult-only evenings.

Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael is a Conservative congregation located in the heart of Morristown. Headed by Rabbi David Joseph Nesson and Cantor Vadim Yucht, the staff also includes Melissa Weiner, director of life long learning and education, and Fern Spitzer, director of Shalom Yeladim-The Judie Gerstein Early Learning Center. With more than 110 years of rich history and a bright future, MJCBY is traditional in style and egalitarian in participation. We are committed to serving the needs of all of our multi-generational membership and do so with the spirit of joy and celebration.

Our nursery school, religious school, life long learning, youth groups, and adult education opportunities are always evolving. We have active an sisterhood, men’s club, and seniors programs. We invite you to attend our services (8:15 p.m. on Fridays with the exception of the first Friday, which is a family service at 7:30 p.m., and 9:30 a.m. on Shabbat mornings), family programs, classes for all ages, and other social, cultural, and recreational activities. Oheb Shalom, celebrating its 150th year anniversary, is a special place with a robust history and a bright future. We are a vibrant and diverse Jewish community, offering award winning nursery and Hebrew schools that develop a strong sense of Judaism in our children. If you are looking for a friendly, quaint shul then look no further, Perrineville Jewish Center is the place. Having celebrated its 100th year anniversary in 2010, the “hidden jewel of Monmouth County” offers a one day a week Hebrew school. PJC has an active programming schedule offering Shabbat dinners, interesting lectures, and fun family activities. PJC offers family services once per month.
