We believe that a child’s work is play. Our experienced staff help children explore their world, learning comfortably at their own pace, while developing social skills and a positive self image. Our whole approach to learning includes a new playground, which features eco-friendly equipment designed to encourage investigation of the natural world; a brand-new indoor play space; classes in yoga, tumbling, and music; and an age-appropriate curriculum. All this happens in a supportive Jewish setting. Programs available for: toddlers with an accompanying grownup; two, two, three, and four year olds; and kindergarten. The Early Childhood Program at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael promotes social, cognitive, physical, and language development for children 18 months through Pre-K. Small class sizes allow teachers to work with children to promote each child’s individual needs. Judaic studies are incorporated into our daily activities. We offer full and half day programs as well as before and after care. The Early Childhood Program is New Jersey State certified and NAEYC accredited.

Camp Kayitz is an eight-week fun-filled summer program for children 18 months through Pre-K. Our camp program has organized weekly themes which include music, movement, cooking, arts and crafts, and more. We have a fenced in play area for gross motor fun and water play.

Nurturing and educating children since 1989, the Gan’s staff of early childhood professionals guide each child, ages six weeks to six years, through our fully integrated and developmentally appropriate Jewish curriculum enhanced with progressive Jewish values and ideals. Our rich curriculum includes Hebrew, the fine arts, sensory exploration, science, reading, and math readiness. Designed to accommodate today’s working parents who are seeking a Jewish child care and preschool experience for our youngest learners, our center hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parents may choose between several enrollment options including full, half, or extended days for either three, four, or five days a week. The Gan is open year round with no increase in fees for our summer camp program. All of our classrooms are multi-aged, affording children the opportunity to develop at their own pace while being stimulated and guided in our bright, clean, and large classrooms.

Enrollment in all Gan programs is limited, as we seek to encourage a small, homey atmosphere in which every child and their family is known by all of our staff and valued, cared for, and taught with respect and love.

Our school, located in our new facility which opened in August 2010, offers opportunities for individual growth and development through social, creative, and cognitive experiences. Shabbat, Jewish customs, and holiday celebrations play an important part in the curriculum.

Programs offered are Together Time (15-23 months); Young Twos (20-26 months); morning classes for two, three, and four year olds; extended day for ages three and four; early arrival; and a seven-week mini-camp. Additional programming includes Kids Yoga, Mini-Music Makers, Travelin' Tumblers, and other fun activities.

The facilities, programs, and services offered at the Leon & Toby Cooperman JCC in West Orange are available for your child. This includes bright and airy classrooms, full sized gyms, indoor heated pools, outdoor playgrounds, large indoor play spaces, art facilities, and enrichment classes. JCC MetroWest swim and gym professionals guide our aquatics and physical education activities. Our Sharon and Stephen Seiden Early Childhood Center in West Orange includes a children's library; a teacher resource area; and a dedicated, heated, and covered drop-off and pick-up area.

In operation since 1975, our goal is for each child to feel good about themselves. Our program creates a safe and nurturing community for your child that fosters life-long learning and emotional well-being.

Mommy & Me (12-24 months) and Toddler Fun Club (24-36 months).

Two-and-a-half to six years old. Mornings include a Jewish based curriculum, pre-math, pre-reading, and science.

Optional hot lunch plan.

Daily afternoon elective enrichments (science, art, geography, reading, and gymnastics).

7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. early/late stay. We incorporate arts and crafts, music, computers, yoga, and soccer into our programs.

The school’s program for two to five year olds is based on the philosophy that children learn as they create and play. The foundation of personality, self-image, and the motivation to learn are all firmly established in the first five years of a child’s life. The school gives the tools, space, and support for that foundation, in a Jewish atmosphere and with a rich Judaic curriculum.

Other offerings include a Mommy & Me program for pre-nursery school-age children, extended day afternoon hours (which includes cooking, science, yoga, art 101, and fun with literature), a summer camp, and parent education programs.

Our teachers love what they do and continue here year after year. All of our lead teachers are certified and their average tenure is 15 years. Student teacher ratios are 5:1 for two year olds and 8:1 for three and four year olds.

Shalom Yeladim-The Judie Gerstein Early Learning Center provides a unique Jewish environment to enrich the emotional, social, intellectual, and religious curiosity of young children from birth through kindergarten.

The program consists of morning classes for two, three, and four year olds as well as kindergarten and afternoon enrichment classes for science, Hebrew, cooking, pre-reading, and pre-math. Extended day from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. is available. For kindergarteners, we provide transportation to the Randolph elementary schools. Our school also offers parent-child programs from birth to 23 months, a New Twos class starting in September, and a six-week summer program.

If the roots are healthy, the tree will be strong. In Hebrew, shoresh means "roots." At Shoresh Preschool, we are committed to providing the highest quality early childhood education program where we instill a love of learning. We offer a parent/child class for ages 15-23 months and a brand new class for Young Twos. Our program is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended morning and afternoon hours available. We also offer an eight-week Summer Fun Camp for ages two through four.

Temple Beth Ahm Preschool is designed to provide a happy and nurturing environment in which children can develop a positive self image and love of learning. We offer classes for children ages two, three, and four with half-, mini-, and full-day options. We have an extensive Mommy & Me program taught by “Miss Judy” Wiskin for babies, toddlers, and those ready to transition. We also offer summer camp for children ages two through five, a six-week session just right for little ones. 

Temple Beth Shalom Preschool offers children experiences in art, science, math, computers, emergent literacy, story time, language development, and outdoor play activities. Our Jewish values, holidays, and culture are integrated throughout our preschool day through song, prayer, and learning activities. The preschool offers classes for two, three, and four year olds. Toddler Time is a special class for parents and their 14-23 month old toddlers. There is also a program for young twos transitioning to an independent program.

Optional extended hours and enrichment programs offered by teacher specialists in cooking, sports, French, art, and Hebrew are also available to round out a child’s day. Our summer program, Camp Shalom, is an eight-week program filled with indoor and outdoor activities. There is an extended day program. Before and after school programs will be available for preschoolers from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
