JCC pledges 'uninterrupted service' in Whippany
FITNESS SERVICES at the Lautenberg Family Jewish Community Center in Whippany will carry on uninterrupted as discussions continue with potential new fitness center providers, officials assured members last week. In a letter to JCC members, JCC officials said fitness center services "will continue to provide fitness services until a new vendor is in place." The JCC announced earlier this year that it would no longer run the fitness center in Whippany and had set Dec. 31 as a target date for a new provider. United Jewish Communities of MetroWest New Jersey, which operates the Aidekman campus in Whippany, where the JCC is located, is still in discussions with potential new fitness center providers, officials there said. Other JCC services, including an early childhood center and senior activities, will continue at the Whippany site. The JCC also operates a center in West Orange. The JCC also announced that once it ceases operation of the fitness center in Whippany, members of the Lautenberg JCC will receive a complimentary six-month "program membership." The membership offers member rates on programs, but does not include access to fitness facilities. |
