Sam Engel

Sam Engel, 93, of Tamarac, Fla., died Jan. 12, 2012. Born in Poland, he lived most of his life in Irvington before moving to Florida 22 years ago.

Mr. Engel was self-employed, working in the garment industry in New York City.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Workmen’s Circle.

Predeceased by his wife, Pearl, he is survived by his son, Mark of Yardley, Pa.; his daughter, Rochelle Matlin of Edison; his sister, Freida Mark of Florida; his grandson; and his companion, Doris Smith.

Services were held Jan. 16 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
