Philip Sacks

Dr. Philip Sacks, DDS, 95, of Maplewood died Jan. 13, 2012. Born in Newark, he resided in Millburn and Short Hills for many years before moving to Cranbury and then Maplewood in 2003.

Prior to his retirement nearly 30 years ago, Dr. Sacks was in a private dental practice for over 40 years with offices in Newark, Irvington, and Basking Ridge.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Predeceased by his wife, Rosalind, he is survived by his son, Richard of Short Hills; two daughters, Cindy Lizarraga of Centennial, Colo., and Marilynn Auster of Hackettstown; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held Jan. 16 with arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union.
