Marvin Simson

Marvin Simson, 90, of Springfield died May 11, 2012. He was born in Newark.

Mr. Simson was a principal founder of Shachat & Simson, an accounting firm in New Jersey.

He interned as an accountant while earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater as a staff sergeant.

He was a major contributor to multiple organizations, most notably United Jewish Appeal of MetroWest NJ, Mercer University Law School, and Midway Jewish Center of Syosset, NY.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mildred; his son, Gary of Macon, Ga.; his daughter, Ellen Rank of Syosset, NY; and six grandchildren.

Services were held May 13 with arrangements by Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, Livingston.
