Re “Conservative pro-Israel group targets Rep. Holt,” September 1

I am a Jewish constituent of Rush Holt and I must state my strong support for my congressman (“Conservative pro-Israel group targets Rep. Holt,” Sept. 6). He is being targeted by radical right forces who cling to the straw of his support for peace efforts and humanitarian aid in the Middle East, to accuse him falsely of being against Israel. Holt has been a consistent friend of Israel and I agree with his belief that only with a negotiated peace will Israel’s future be secure. In addition, his entire record supports the most basic Jewish values of wisdom, ethics, and social justice — unlike his political opponents’. I hope that NJ Jews will vote on his excellent record, not on the basis of false and misleading attack ads.
