Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael will be hosting their first Girl Scout Shabbat (Sabbath) on Friday, March 16, 5:30-7:30pm.  Girl Scouts of all denominations and ages are invited.  The event is Free.

Each March during Girl Scout Week, churches and synagogues across the country participate in Girl Scout Shabbat or Girl Scout Sabbath. Scout Shabbat offers an opportunity for Scouts to explore other faiths and allows worshipers to honor Scouts and Scout Leaders in the community for their achievements and service.  This will be done as part of the standard Jewish Friday Night Service.  A special workshop for Girl Scouts will be held before the general congregation service.  Girls are encouraged to wear their uniform.

The first 50 girls who RSVP will receive a Girl Scout Shabbat Patch.  Please Register by March 1, Include number of girls, town, grade and troop number.  Call 973-538-9292 or email troop4208@gmail.com.  Please let us know if you’ve earned the “my promise, my faith” patch for this year so we can highlight your accomplishment.

All troops of any denomination are invited and the event is free.
Please be aware: no camera or cell phone use is allowed in the building during Shabbat services
