Founded in 1970, Temple Har Shalom is a warm and caring congregation of 450 families serving the Warren, Basking Ridge, Watchung, and Berkeley Heights region. Affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism, we provide an educational, social, and religious center for Central Jersey.

Temple Sholom is a Reform congregation that welcomes all traditional and non traditional Jewish families. Founded in 1913, Temple Sholom is among the oldest Reform congregations in NJ. Its approximately 230 member families come from communities throughout Union, Middlesex, and Somerset counties.

Family services are held at 7 p.m. the first Friday of each month. Second Fridays are Torah Explorers for Pre-Schoolers and their families at 5:45 p.m., and Gates of Prayer services at 8 p.m. Third Fridays are Shiru Ladonai in the folk/rock tradition at 7:30 p.m. and fourth Fridays are Kabalat Shabbat, a meditative service, at 6:30 p.m.

Erev Shabbat services are held at 8 p.m. on the first, second, and fourth Fridays of each month. On the third (and fifth) Fridays, services are held at 6:30 p.m. and include Kids Connection, a program for elementary school students during the sermon. Emanu-El welcomes interfaith families, Jews-by-choice, gay and lesbian Jews, and singles.

Three Fridays a month, services begin at 8 p.m. The first Friday of the month, a tot Shabbat service begins at 7 p.m. and the last Friday of the month kabalat Shabbat is at 6:30, instead of the 8 p.m. service. The Shabbat morning service begins at 10. A lay-led minyan is held concurrently once a month.

For more than 50 years, Temple Sha’arey Shalom has celebrated Jewish life in a challenging style. Family Shabbat is generally observed the first Friday of the month with an alternative-style Friday night service. Shabbat morning features three separate prayer experiences.

Temple Shalom, serving more than 500 families, welcomes all who seek to share a contemporary Jewish experience. Temple Shalom is dedicated to the principles of Reform Judaism and is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism.
